Nissan Motor’s Environmentally Friendly Electric Vehicle – Pivo the Ghost?

Posted by Bill Belew on May 15th, 2007 in Japan | No Comments

This little car reminds me of Obake Q-Taro, a Japanese version of Casper the Ghost. Obake means monster but could be a ghost.

Nissan has an environmentally friendly electric vehicle that could star in a Japanese animation.

The car can

1. seat three people…(presumably Japanese-sized)

2. Has zero emissions

3. steer-by-wire, brake-by-wire and shift-by-wire systems that replace mechanical linkages

4. See-through pillars helps to reduce dangerous blind spots

5. dash-mounted infrared (IR) commander allows drivers to operate the navigation system and audio system without taking an eye off the road.

And, if all else fails, there might be a spot open in Saturday morning cartoons.

Would you like to drive this thing?
