Nissan Motor Corp. and Suzuki Motor Corp Investigating Joint Production in Russia, Brazil and India
Nissan Motor Corp started producing cars in Brazil in 2001 and will begin producing cars in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2009.
Suzuki Motor Corp. has asked Nissan to produce cars for them in both countries.
The two companies announced that they would share supply vehicles and parts earlier this year – June.
Nissan already has an alliance with Renault SA of France, but was shot down by GM.
Suzuki specializes in minicars for the Japanese market.
Both companies are saying they are considering working together in other emerging markets, starting with Suzuki’s plant in India.
Good news for people who like these Japanese automakers, eh?
What do you think?
