NHK to broadcast live concert on anniversary of Tohoku earthquake

A special live program titled ‘Shinsai Kara 1 Nen ‘Ashita e’ concert’ will be aired by NHK on March 10, which is just a day before the first anniversary of Tohoku earthquake. The producers of the show have used the medium of music to deliver a message to the areas affected by the disaster.

The show will be broadcasted from the Mahukari Messe in Chiba and from the Sukugawa City Culture Centre in Fukishima. Different artists are expected to appear at each venue.

So far for the Sukagawa City Culture Centre line up include Hitoto Yo, Sakamoto Fuyumi, Hirahara Ayaka, Kitajima Saburo. And Perfume, AKB48, SMAP will be appearing at the Makuhari Messe.

More artists will be announced in the upcoming days. The show will be broadcasted on NHK BS Premium Channel from 4 PM to 10 pm on March 10, 2012. On the other hand the NHK General will be showing only a portion of the event from 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm.
