New Reward System for viewing online ads offered
Dentsu Inc. has come up with a way of offering reward points as a marketing tool for companies doing advertising on the Net.
Consumers can get more points if they view an ad that hasn't been seen as much as more popular ads.
The rewards act like a virtual currency for purchasing goods online.
Companies will gain info on consumer attributes that can help them focus their products and services.
The number of points that can be earned decreases with the number of views and vice versa.
Consumers, in turn, will look for ads that can earn them the most points.
Dentsu has patented the method and will act as intermediary between advertisers and companies that operate portals and shopping sites.
This seems to me to be a way of finding out just how much an ad is worth or should be worth.
I will be interested to see how Dentsu's plan turns out.
