Mistsubishi Electric First Japanese Company to Supply Nuclear Power Control Systems to China

Mistsubishi Electric says they are the first Japanese company to supply nuclear power control systems to China.

The company received an order from China that is valued at about 30 billion yen.

Mistsubishi is, of course, hoping that this order for six nuclear reactors in China will be the first of many as China leans more and more on nuclear power.

Mitsubishi's digital systems will be used in nuclear reactors in Liaoning and Fujian provinces.

The control panel is said to be half the size of an analog control panel and requires less work of operators.mitsubishi.electric.jpg

It DOES, however, still require they work.

Though most orders for control systems are awarded

to nuclear plant equipment makers and affiliated systems engineering firms, Mitsubishi thinks it has an edge because of sophisticated technology.

The reactors will be designed by China.

Goodwill between the country…until an earthquake perhaps…the foundation of the relationship AND the nuclear plant.

Let's hope not.
