Make More Money – Work More In Japan
About 4.8% of all workers in Japan make around 10 million yen ($83,000) in a year.
The Labor ministry is considering making that number magic. If a worker can get to the 10 million yen mark annually, s/he will be free to just keep on working and working and working…
I can see it now. The Japanese will give everyone close to that number a raise and then ask them to work double time…or gee, why not triple time.
The Labor ministry is also saying that workers must have jobs that cannot "be appropriately assessed through the length of working hours, and that the work implies significant power and responsibility."
Private sector management wanted the figure to be 4 million yen – which would have included nearly everybody.
This is just what Japan needs. The population is declining because the men can’t/won’t go home, and now management is hoping they will work even longer.
What do you think?
