What’s a Fundoshi? Well it’s the traditional Japanese form of men’s underwear – to be more precise, it’s a loin cloth. So what’s so wonderful about the fundoshi? It can be underwear and formal dressing all at the same time!

Fundoshi’s come a long way from being that plain white cotton wrap underwear. Today it comes in plaid, tartan, all sorts of prints, various fabrics (including lycra!) and in every colors under the sun. Fundoshi comes in 5 or 6 styles each with different shapes and ways of tying.

Mitsukoshi department store sells them as “Classic Pants” and I’ve seen a few that are aboslutely delightful! Yes, someone’s getting fundoshi for Christmas!
