Jockey Records 3,000th Win – Yutaka Take
Japanese Yutaka Take raced to his 3,000th Japan Racing Association (JRA) win…the first to reach the milestone.
The 38-year old has been riding since March 1987, lemme see, that would have made him 20 at the time.
It took him 8 years to get to 1,000 and 7 more years to reach 2,000….He was the youngest ever to reach that milestone.
He passed the JRA record of 2,943 wins set by 59-year old former
jockey Yukio Okabe who is now retired.
The all-time record for racing wins in Japan is 7,151 victories.
Yutaka has about 3 wins a week average over the past 20 years. If he rides another 20…he'll make it to about 6,000 victories.
Guess he'll have to pick up the pace.
Do you bet on the horses?
