Japan’s Top Start-Ups for 2008 – Internet Services and Eco-Friendly

Internet start-ups focused on services and environment-related venture firms are expected to be top performers for 2008 in Japan.

1. Mixi Inc. got the top spot. Mixi is a social networking company with about 10 million members, many accessing the site from cell phones.

2. Ferrotec Corp was next and top amon environment-related start ups. The solar cell maker is teaming up with a joint venture in South Korea.

3. Gourmet Navigator is an Internet venture where restaurants pay fees so that info can be accessed about them.

4. Daiseki Eco. Solution is a firm that treats contaminated soil.

6. NPC Inc makes solar cell manufacturing equipment.
