Japan’s Top Products for Export

According to statistics released by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, following are the top nine products that Japan exports.

9. Synthetic Fibers – more than $1.6 billion worth

8. Machine tools – $6.0+ billion

7. Computers – $8.0+ billion

6. Video Decks – $12.0+ billion

5. Ships – $12.0+ billion

4. Iron and Steel – $23.0+ billion (this one surprised me.)

3. Automobile parts – $24.0+ billion (this one didn’t surprise me.)

2. ICs – $27.0+ billion

and no surprise at all here

1. Passenger cars – $75.0 billion (most of it going to Toyota, no doubt)

This little island country has much to contribute to the rest of the world, on land, on sea, and in virtual space.
