Japan’s Lunar Spacecraft Set for Launch

Japan's Selenological and Engineering Explorer spacecraft is set to launch its first lunar explorer this week in a bid to get the country's space program back on track and get to the moon ahead of China.

Japan has enough money and ought to be out front when it comes to exploring.

However, my bet is that Japan will allow some other country to set the lunarjapan.lunar.spacecraft.jpg standard and design the spacecraft that will go and come AND then Japan will improve on the quality of the spacecraft and mass produce it more efficiently. No?
