Japan’s Leak of Data on Missile Defense Serious Problem

The U.S. Forces Commander said that the leak of data on the missile defense system that Japan and the United States is a "serious problem."

Both nations must work harder to improve security.

Sensitive info on the high-tech Aegis radar system used by the United States on ships with SM-3 ballistic missile interceptors was found out in a Japanese police investigation.

The US remains committed to working with Japan…no problem there.

The impact of the leaked info has been determined.

Now attention has been turned to learn how to improve operational security, specifically on the Japan SDF.

In March, a junior Japanese naval officer had confidential info on a CD which he was not authorized to have….and…

a Chinese wife.

Other officers also had similar data.

Is China the enemy here? 

The discovery was made when a naval college in western Japan was raided.
