Japanese Workers Get Higher Bonuses

The Japanese get paid monthly, not weekly or bi-weekly. Additionally, they get two bonuses each year – one in the summer and one at year’s end.

Add all that up and divide it by twelve to know what their average salary per month is.

The average bonus this year will be 868,932 yen, abt ($7,500).

A survey of 197 companies revealed an increase over last year ofbonus money.jpg 1.97%. Now they are wishing they had surveyed 500 countries.

The bonuses, of course, contribute much to consumer spending in Japan. Oftentimes, the Japanese consider the bonuses ‘mad-money,’ to buy gifts, take trips or pay off accounts.

Consumer spending makes up for more than half of Japan’s spending.

What would you do if you got a $7,500 bonus this year?
