Japanese Still Throwing Money Away

The Japanese are still throwing money away…leaving it in men's restrooms, throwing it off bridges….but now they are getting better at it.

Somebody found a bag with 1 million yen ($80kish) at a garbage collection site.

Say, what?

Why can't people leave garbage bags of money at my garbage collection site?

They picked it up this morning and I checked continually.throw.money.away.jpg

The sanitation engineers will be back next Tuesday. Please bring any disposable money you have before then.

The trash collector in Kobe picked up a bag and found it

too heavy for its size.

When he looked inside he found the money – about 90 10,000 yen notes, some 5,000 yen and 1000 yen notes were also found as well as some coins.

The garbage man, immediately, no pausing, no contemplating, no wondering …turned it over to the police.

What's with people throwing money away and with people turning it in?

Where else in the world could this happen other than Japan?
