Japanese Shun the 3 Ks – Rely on the Philippines
Japanese shun jobs known as the 3 Ks. Kitsui means hard/tough. Kitanai means dirty/filthy. Kiken means dangerous/risky.
Even doctors shun away from them preferring to be dermatologists and ENT specialists to gynecologist, pediatricians and neurosurgeons. I had a doctor in Japan who doubled as an ENT and a dermatologist. I guess he made more money that way.
Japan already relies on and is looking to the Philippines for more help.
Filipino women get by in Japan with their broken Japanese while they work in bars, pubs and nightclubs.
However, recently Japan and the Philippines signed an agreement that would allow Filipino women to come to Japan to train/work as nurses.
The Mainichi News reported that an estimated 232 billion dollars were sent by emigrants BACK to their homelands – more than the $167 billion dollars received through official development assistance. (ODA).
In the 1990s Filipino women emigrants contributed one third of the $6 billion that was transferred back to their homeland.
As more and more Filipino women make their way to pick up the slack in the 3 Ks in Japan, we can expect women to carry even more of the burden in the Philippines, no?
What do you think?
