Japanese Seniors Targeted by Travel Firms

The Tourism Authority of Thailand says Japanese seniors are where the money is.

The old folks of Japan should be targeted and encouraged to stay for longer periods.

Japanese seniors are:

1. wealthy

2. fond of experiencing world historic sites

3. like learning about foreign cultures

4. enjoy experiencing naturejapanese.thailand.jpg

A UN report notes about nine million Japanese will reach retirement age from now-2010 and that in 2010, the proportion of people over 60 will reach 30% of Japan's total population.

Thailand has a plan to attract 14.8 million foreign visitors and at the top of the list are Japanese seniors.
