Japanese Scientist Alter Genes in Mice to Remove Fear of Cats

Japanese scientists at Tokyo University have altered the genes in mice so that they no longer have any innate fear of cats.

video here.

Mice don't run. Nor do Jerrys get the or need to get the best of Toms anymore.

Receptors in the olfactory bulb in the brain of the mice were shut down.

No smelling, no panic.

The result – while the cat is NOT away, the mice play together with their feline friend.

The conclusion – sense of smell is what causes animals to fear other animals.

Perhaps other mammals can be reprogrammed to not be afraid.

In that case the lion and the lamb will lay down with one another before heaven, eh?

So…um…do the cats get to eat the mice without having to chase them?
