Sony Announces Walkman w/ Video Playback
Beginning this spring, that's March 21st, Sony will have three Walkman models that can playback high image and sound quality videos.
The models will have 2" screens and weigh 53 grams, less than 2oz.
The battery, hopefully not a fire hazard, can be recharged in 3 hours and continuosuly play videos for eight hours and music for up to 30 hours.
MP3, WMA and AAC sound formats are supported as well as AVC and MPEG-4 video compression methods.![]()
The player will have an 8-gigabyte internal memory and sell for about 33,000 yen ($300).
Sony has yet to decide whether it will launch the players in the states to compete with Apple's iPod.
