Sega, Capcom go after Microsoft Xbox Fans

Nintendo is changing the face of games…and who is playing them…and business is booming.

For the rest of Japan’s game software makers, demand is sluggish.

Sega Corp. and Capcom Co. are planning to shift their focus to North America and Europe.

Sega will launch “Virtual Fighter 5″ this summer for Microsoft’s Xbox even though it has planned to make the popular title exclusive for Sony’s PS3.

More than 10,000,000 Xboxes have been sold in the U.S. and Europe. Sega Sammy does not want to wait for the PS3 to catch up.

Capcom will build on the success of “Dead Rising” and “Lost Planet” which sold 1.1 million copies each.

Meanwhile, Nintendo will continue to grow its game players – young kids, girls, women, older folks.

If Sammy and Capcom don’t have plans to do so, they’d better get some soon.
