Mazda has a different idea – an electric car that is powered by hydrogen fuel.

The Mazda Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid will be available for lease starting next year at about $3,500/month.

The engine is a rotary engine. Remember – and the Mazda goes ummmm – commercials, so it's quieter.

The vehicle is powered by hydrogen stored in a tank. However, it can/will switch to gasoline when the hydrogen runs out.

"The new car also has a lithium-ion battery that drives the motor and recharges itself using energy from braking, further conserving on electricity."Taiki.mazda.jpg

Mazda also revealed a 'concept car' called Taiki that was inspired by flowing wind.

The shape was developed by studying fabric fluttering in the wind.

Mazda's sales are climbing this year – some 4%.

The Taiki, however, will make Mazda's cool factor really soar….like the wind maybe.
