Hitachi Robot Uses Radar, Not Very Well – Emiew 2

Hitachi Ltd introduced a humanoid robot that employs radar to guide visitors.

It can wade through people and desks…usually.

It's called the Emiew 2.

It can recognize and generate speech.

It can also crash into desks.

It can move about on two weeks, stoop to four, even pick up its feet,

It is about 2'4" tall and weighs 29lbs. It uses a lithium ion battery to go for about an hour or so.

We wonder what it will be used for.

Perhaps it can measure the impact of crashing into a desk and advise the elderly on where not to hurt themselves.

Do you think robots will ever be part of our daily lives?
