Gold-Plated “Saint Seiya’ Action Figures for Y15,000

Bandai Co. will sell gold-plated limited-edition action figures of the lead character in the "Saint Seiya" animated television show next year, March.

Pegasus Seiya will stand 17cm (7") tall and weigh around 200 grams (7oz).

His arms and legs will bend.

His armor will be plated with 99.9% pure gold, and he will cost about 15,000 yen ($140).

The Namco Bandai Holdings Inc. will sell 20,000 of the figures through toy retailers and department stores.

Most of the buyers are expected to be fans, primarily men in their 20s and 30s.

Bandai has sold a Y3,000,000 worth of the action figures based on the show since 2003.
