GM Exec Praises Toyota Tundra

Toyota's Tundra will challenge the GMT 900 and Ford F-Series. Nissan's Titan is looking over its shoulder as well.

The Tundra received words of praise from a very unlikely source…a GM executive.

The exec was quoted as saying ""I took a good look at it today. I think it's a very, very, very well executed large truck. It's got good styling, great interior. It's a very nice truck."

I don't know about you but that is two verys too many, no?

The executive thinks that Toyota will steal market share from Nissan and that Ford, DaimlerChrysler and GM are safe.

Fat chance of that…

A Nissan rep thinks having Toyota fight the battle of market acceptability will be a shot in their (Nissan's) arm and help sales for them (Nissan).

I think it is just a matter of time before Toyota shows the big three how to do trucks also.

The same exec has a reputation for saying 'dumb things'…dumb from GM's perspective. He has called the Buick and Pontiac 'damaged brands' and still hasn't given them a clean bill of health.

Soon, he may be looking for a job…perhaps Toyota is the company he wants to work for.

What do you think?
