There are reasons why Toyota’s Camry is Motor Trends 2007 Car of the Year.

1. It is the best selling car in America – 350,481 units.

2. The second best is also a Toyota – Corolla 330,995. The Camry is quality on top of quality.

3. The Camry has performance appeal.

4. The Camry has efficiency appeal….especially its hybrid.

5. The Camry has roominess appeal.

6. The Camry has better innovation in design.

7. The Camry has better innovation in engineering.

8. The Camry has better innovation in safety.

9. The Camry has better innovation in technology.

10. The Camry beat the Sebring, Aura, Altima, Rondo, Fit, Mercedes S Class, Volvo C70 T5 and VW Rabbit.

Camry is the English phonetic spelling for kanmuri – a Japanese word. Ka like in the sound that crows make…and the ‘ri’ sounds more like an "l" to Japanese.

Thus kanmur = Camry. The Japanese word kanmuri means CROWN.

The Camry gets the crown because it is the King of the field.
