Eight of Japan’s major electronic makers saw higher sales in April-September.

The firms are Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Toshiba Corp., Fujitsu Ltd., Mitsubishi Electric Corp., Sharp Corp., Pioneer Corp., Hitachi Ltd and Sony Corp.

Flat panel sales led to record sales for Matsushita and Sharp.

Fujitsu’s information system business was a hit overseas.

Mitsubishi Electric’s industrial equipment did well at home and abroad.

Hitachi was the only one of the eight to see a net loss – due to a faulty turbine problems at nuclear power stations.

Sony’s profits were down, due to its battery recall troubles, but the company still came out in the black.

And the Japanese economy keeps on humming along…..

What do you think?
