Japanese Body Language – 頭数

Japanese Body Language –

頭数[あたまかず, atama-kazu] headcount; number of persons

The first part atama = head. kazu is number.

The Japanese are no different than Americans, say preachers for example.

When they want to know how many people showed up for an event or for the worship service, which by the way, doesn't happen much in Japan, they will ask, how many heads did you count.

What was the 頭数?
