Japanese and Chinese Meet about Food Poisoning

The Chinese and Japanese are or at least were getting along fine.

Somehow, poison, methamidophos, a lot of it, got into a batch of Chinese-made frozen dumplings – gyoza, jiaozi.

Yum! Without the poisoning, of course.

The Tian Yang Food Plant says they have never used the pesticide substance.

So, how the poison got in the dumplings is a mystery. Where's Sherlock when you really need him?

At any rate, a five-member Chinese team and a busload of camera-wielding, note taking Japanese are going to meet to see what they can find out. I doubt they'll be enjoying dim sum when they do meet.

My guess is, what they will find out is that they can still get along and do business with one another just fine – sell, buy, import and export.

Not even hated trips to shrines can stop them.
