Japan Will Lower Adult Age Limit to 18 from 20

The Japanese government will revise 191 laws and 117 government ordinances to lower the minimum of age of adults from 20 to 18.

The youngsters will be able to vote and get drunk, or not.

The decision was made in order to bring the age of majority into line with "a law providing for referenda on constitutional revisions, which stipulates that those aged 18 or over have the right to vote in such a referendum."

It seems to me it would be easier to change one law than 308 others…but what do I know?

The bill will be submitted next year in the fall during an extraordinary Diet session or the falling year during a regular Diet session. 

I think the age worldwide should be raised to 25 or so.

21-year old is not as old as it used to be and 18-years old is even younger.
