Japan Unemployment and Household Spending UP
Japan's unemployment rose to 4.0%, up from 3.8% in August, the highest rate in 6 months.
However, household spending was 3.2% higher than it was a year ago in September, its highest rise in more than 3.5 years.
More people out of work have more time to go shopping?
Hardly.
Three months ago, Japan's jobless rate was at its lowest, 3.6%,
However, sustaining that low unemployment rate is the problem.
It would seem to me that if more people were buying, more people would be needed to make what they are buying, or to sell the products.
Shows you what I don't know.
