3,800 Chickens – well done – inedible
Workers culled 8,000 chickens at a poultry farm in Miyazaki, Japan.
Then, 3,800 of the birds were incinerated or killed with CO2 and wrapped in plastic bags to be disposed of.
About 150 workers from anti-bird flu headquarters, themselves wrapped in masks, goggles, and protective gear did the deed.
Reason – H5 variety of bird flu was confirmed at the site, one of the largest in Japan.![]()
After the chickens are removed, the farm will be disinfected and farms and eggs from 16 other farms within a 10-kilometer radius will be quarantined for at least three weeks.
And in the meantime, Japanese will pay out the gazoo for KFC…or, more likely avoid the place altogether.
