Japan Moves Autoparts Fair to Shanghai

The Japan External Trade Organization, or JETRO, opened an autoparts fair today in Shanghai, it's first time in China's largest city.

In previous fairs, Guangzhou was the city of choice because Japanese automakers and parts makers have many operations in the southern coastal city.

But…the car business is growing and growing and….so, the venue was moved to Shanghai this year.auto.parts.jpg

103 firms have booths at the fair…all hoping to get in on the growing automobile business in China.

When was the last time American carmakers held an autoparts fair in China? Anywhere in China?

And we wonder why Japanese cars are zooming past their American counterparts.
