Japan Gets Friendly With Iraq

The Foreign Ministry in Japan announced it would provide more than 82 billion yen ($700+ million) in loans to Iraq to help the country repair and upgrade its energy industry.

About 60% will be used to build oil pipelines and export facilities in Basra.

The rest will be used to rehabilitate power lines and to stabilize electricity supply in the country.pipeline.jpg

Japan needs Iraqi oil, and Iraq needs Japan's help.

For those who think America went to Iraq for the oil…why did oil prices go up?

Japan is a friend to America. America has its hands full with Iraq as well. But, these two countries are trying to make a difference.

What do you think?

Great post, thanks. Don’t know if you’ve seen these two short videos from Iraq yet or not, but both show the US Military engaging in some very dubious actions. I have them up on my site at http://www.minor-ripper.blogspot.com ..You have to wonder what these soldiers were thinking when videotaping this stuff…
