Japan and India Talk Free Trade
Japan and India have set a goal of having a bilateral free trade agreement within two years.
India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh signed the accord with Japan's Prime Minister Abe Shinzo today.
The negotiations will start immediately.
Japan's Prime Minister Abe sees India as one of Asia's fastest growing economies. The 1.1 billion potential customers have caught his eye as well.
Japan is pushing for free trade with Australia and South Korea as well.
Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines already have agreements.
For some reason, Japan and India have always gotten along.
Why shouldn't there be a free trade agreement as well.
