Japan Adds Luxury Items to List of No-sends to North Korea

Japan has decided to add to the list of items that will be banned from export to North Korea.

The items are ‘luxury items’ in North Korea:

1. cars

2. booze

3. smokesnorth korean flag.jpg

These items are said to go directly to Kim so that he can redistribute them to his cronies to curry favor and keep his grip on the dictatorship.

The Japanese government hopes this embargo will hit the people that need to be hit most – those directly connected to Kim.

In 2005 Japan exported 6.8 billion yen worth of goods. Almost 1 billion of that was cars (685 million) and cigarettes (233 million).

Japan, to their credit, is doing their best to find a peaceful resolution to this mess created by the DPRK.

Soon, Japan plans to add high-quality food – melons and beef – and home electronic goods to the list.

But, these steps will only be effective if someone else does NOT step in and supply them instead.

The whole country needs to be completely cut off until the people say "no more!" But, that is not practical.

What do you think?
