JAL Back in the Black

Japan Air Lines lost money last year. Then took a whopping 6 months to turn things around and get back in the black.

Explain to me why the airlines in the U.S. cannot do that.

Japan Air Lines restructured routes and increased the number of international passengers by switching to smaller aircraft…and voila! making money again.

Last year, JAL lost about $100 million from Apr-Sep. This year they made $12.75 million.

The company has a target of 3 billion yen ($25 million) in profits. In half a year, they are half way there.Japan Air Lines.jpg

Again, tell me why it takes so long for airlines in the US to turn things around. Why does it take so long for any company in the US to turn things around.

What do you think?
