A 26-year old senior officer's personal computer leaked information on a crime syndicate, hundreds of yakuza.

Question – what in the world is a 26-year old doing as the senior officer?

Anyway…

As a result the police are scurrying about with statements such as

"We must review the way we manage data." (How about preview?)

"It's a grave situation." (The yakuza will put YOU in the

grave.)yamaguchi.gumi.gif

"We've strictly instructed officers to properly manage internal information." (Now!?)

"The officer faces severe punitive measures." (gee, really? And, what about his superior?)

Thenames and addresses of about 400 members of the Yamaguchi-gumi was leaked as well as liaison offices and affiliated companies.

There is also a list of 1,000 locations where license plate number reading devices are installed.

Well, I am sure the Yamaguchi-gumi is happy to know what it is Japan's MPD knows and more.

With a police force like this, who you gonna call when you need help?
