Import Car Sales Rise After 4 Years of Decline

For the first time in four years sales of imported cars to Japan, including Japanese cars made abroad, went up.

Some 265,000+ cars were sold.

VW had the largest market share – 19.61%.

BMW was second with 17.77%.

Mercedes-Benz was third with 17.66%.

All three were down, 4.4%, 3.9% and 5.8% respectively.

The increase in sales came from importing Japanese cars, up 100% to 33,493 units.

There's something wrong with the picture that it is cheaper to build, ship and buy something that your own company made overseas than it is to buy it at home.

What kind of foreign car would you like to drive?
