Hillary is doing Japan.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton met Empress Michiko and had tea at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.

Hillary clapped after receiving a gift from Special Olympians at the World Winter Games.

Hillary Clinton was led by Shinto priests (even Bill can’t lead her around) when she visited Meiji Shrine in Tokyo on Tuesday morning.

Clinton said she ‘‘showed respect for the history and culture of Japan’’ and expressed hope for an ‘‘even better future.’’

She also watched shrine maidens perform a sacred dance.

Clinton surprised visitors and one visitor’s comments might surprise us – ‘‘She seemed to have an inner fortitude, unlike our country’s politicians,’’ Aiko Mizukami, 71, said.

Clinton is on here way to  Indonesia, South Korea and China this week after visiting Japan.
