Happy Birthday RisingSunOfNihon

Today is RisingSunOfNihon's birthday. My wife and I call it RSON…sounds like arson. Yeah professional bloggers who sit at home all day by themselves with no one to talk to can think of pretty stupid things…that sometimes/often? spill over into their writing.

The other blogs PAB, short a, and TBOK – Sounds like Tee Bock.

RSON is one year old today. And, I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you, to the 400,000+ visitors who have come to view more than 750,000 pages.

There are at least two kinds of writers….those who write because they want to and those who write to be read.

I am the second type.japan_map_islands.gif

I have learned a lot in this first year of blogging at RSON. The most important lesson I have learned is that I still have VERY MUCH to learn.

I still have questions – quality vs. quantity, short vs. long, mainstream vs. offbeat, and so on.

I read Japanese online newspapers daily, scan other blogs to search for what I think is interesting….and ask, listen, and sometimes tell.

For now, that's what I do here at RSON…ask questions, look for answers and tell stories.

I am always open to suggestions.

And, by the way, did I say thank you for coming to visit and for turning pages.
