Germany is Top Supplier of Imported Cars To Japan

Japan imports cars, too. I don’t know why. Nobody can do cars better than the Japanese. Still, I knew a lot of Japanese who liked driving a gaisha – just for the prestige factor. They are looking pretty dumb now, considering the gas prices, however.

According to statistics released by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry there are seven main countries that Japan depends on to supply her passenger car wants and the percentage of overall imports.

They are:

7. France – 2.8%

6. Italy – 4.0% – A Japanese student of mine took a vacation to Europe. The highlight was visiting the Alfa Romero plant, he said.

5. Beligum – 4.3% – What kind of cars does Belgium make?

4. U.S.A. – 7.0% – Most US made cars could NOT get through the side roads of the country side where I lived. They would not physcially fit.

3. South Africa – 10.2% – I’m at a loss here, too. What kind of cars come from South Africa?

2. U.K. – 11.4%

1. Germany – 50.6% – I think the rest of the cars made in Germany are somewhere on the streets here in Silicon Valley. Great cars, however.

But, still second to Japanese made cars.

What do you think?
