Gasoline Hits $4.76/gallon
Gasoline prices in Japan rose for the first time in seven weeks to Y144/litre = abt. $4.76/gallon.
The price increase came because Nippon Oil Corp raised the wholesale prices for October by 2-4 yen per liter….because of higher crude oil costs.
Unlike the States, average gasoline prices rose only slightly because many gas station owners feared increases would hurt sales with the peak travel season over.
It seems that gasoline stations love ANY REASON to raise prices. Gosh, they went up in Japan, so they ought to go up here, too might be a reason.![]()
Premimum gasoline in Japan is Y154.9/liter and diesel is Y122.2/liter, $5.12 and $3.71/gallon respectively.
What's the most you ever paid for a gallon of gas? the least?
I once filled my VW bug up for $2.00 at 24.9 cents a gallon.
