Gangster Shootings – Two in One Week

Despite two shootings in one week, and two deaths, there are fewer shootings in Japan, with its strict gun control laws, than there are in Oakland on a Friday night.

Still, a gang member shot dead a rival gang member in Tokyo…far away and on a different island than where the mayor of Nagasaki was shot…and totally unrelated as well.

I was told once that the majority of shooting deaths anywhere is between organized crime members and between family members.

The safest bet is to stay away from the yakuza and not go home.yakuza.jpg

I was talking to my class last year about the number of people my brother has found dead in his life time – 4. No, he didn't shoot them, but still I thought it was quite impressive to stumble upon that many people who had bought the farm, three drownings, and one murder.

I asked my class if they had every found a dead person.

10 of the 12 people raised their hands…one was a few days ago…another saw 6 the year before!…all in Oakland.

So, I guess we should add stay out of Oakland to the safest bet list, too.

Have you ever come upon a dead person?
