Ford Motor Co and Mazda Motor Ltd. will announce new big investment plans for Thailand.

On October 9th, executive VPs for Ford and Mazda have a joint press conference planned in Bangkok.

AutoAlliance Thailand, the JV between Ford and Mazda, reported last week that the two companies would invest about $584 million to expand production in the land of the Buddhas.

Some 100,000 more cars are expected to come into production for use in Thailand and for export markets.

Earlier this year, Ford said it had earmarked $1 billion to put a small-car production facility in Asia and that Thailand was a top candidate.

AutoAlliance Thailand will roll out 175,000 vehicles this year.

Japan + United States + Thailand = more cars.

I love it when countries work together, don't you?
