Ford Finally Learning Lessons From Japanese Carmakers

Ford Motor Company’s Vice President of Environmental and Safety Engineering is in Japan.

The VP told a group of Tokyo reporters that Ford was committed to ecological technology, including more efficient gas engines, hybrids and the more futuristic fuel cell vehicles.

The big Question is whether Ford has enough cash to see the whole strategy through while they continue to cut jobs, close plants and do other restructuring.Ford Motor Corp.jpg

Japan’s big car companies are reporting profits…Honda lost $5.8 billion last quarter.

Still, Ford is on the right track, I think…but, very very slow out of the blocks and far behind the Japanese car makers.

What do you think?

It’s been a prevalent question as to when Ford will learn from its foreign rivals like Toyota specifically. Finally they are now awake and here’s to hoping that this is not too late for the Dearborn automaker. Ford badly needs to keep pace with the Japanese car makers.
