Fiber-optic Broad Band Users Top 10 Million
Japanese subscribers to fiber-optic broadband service as of Sept. 30 came to 10,518,000, up 818,000 from three months earlier.
It's the first time the number surpassed the 10 million mark, according to MIAC.
"The fiber-optic broadband has spread across Japan," said an official with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
The number of subscribers using asymmetric digital subscriber lines, or ADSL, fell by 310,000 to 13,483,000.
It was the the sixth consecutive quarter of decline.
Seems Japan is making the switch.
