Fast Retailing Co. Opens Uniqlo in Shanghai

A major Japanese casual clothing retail chain opened up shop at a Shanghai shopping mall. And my wife is in line.

Fast Retailing Co. opened its Uniqlo brand shop yesterday. The store has a floor space of 2,200 square meters, second only to the 3,300 sq meter New York Uniqlouniqlo.jpg shop.

The shop will display 550 items, 30% more than the New York store and serve as a flagship store for the seven stores total in Shanghai.

For all the bad blood between China and Japan, it seems to be forgotten somewhat among young people in China who consistently look to Tokyo for the newest fads.

Now, they need only look as far as the mall in downtown Shanghai.

What do you think?
