Takashimaya, Isetan and Barney’s are prominent and upscale fashion stores in Japan.

The Japanese like quality. They insist on quality. They have a taste for fine clothing and an appreciation of attention to detail.

The Japanese are also developing a taste for North American style.

As fashion goes, Japan is said to have a mature outdoor clothing market.

There is one country that can meet the needs of this peculiar customer.

The country – Canada.

Fashion desginers in Vancouver court Japanese clients despite the US being the number one destination for Canadian clothing.

The reason? One designer said "to succeed in Japan, it tells the rest of Asia that you’re doing something right."

Japan sets the standard for quality in fashion.
