Drunken Fire Chief Hits Ambulance After Hit and Run Accident He Caused

If I didn't have a good reason for leaving Niigata, Japan, my home for almost 20 years, I do now.

A 33-year old brigade deputy chief firefighter caused an accident and then tried to flee. Drunk as a skunk, instead of getting away, he ran into the ambulance that was carrying a patient away.

The firefighter sustained serious injuries in the crash and caused minor injuries to four others.

Police are waiting for him to recover from his wounds to question him.ambulance_crash.jpg

Uh…"why did you get drunk and cause an accident and then try to escape and run into an ambulance causing serious injury to yourself and minor injuries to four others? Huh! Why? and Where's the Katsudon?"

"I am stupid, very stupid."

"Un…that's what we thought. And now you are in trouble, too. As soon as your wounds heal, that is."

Meanwhile, the chief of the Niigata Fire Department was bowing and scraping with apologies, promising to do his part to the fool, once the police are done.

Yet another example of why we should lay off the booze. I have never heard, "I wish I had been drinking at the time."

Have you?
