Drugmaker Sets Up Shop in India

Daiichi Sankyo will set up a sales subsidiary in India to go along with a production and sales joint venture it already has in that country.

Sales of drugs in Japan are down. I guess, that's a good thing. Either people are not getting as sick as they once were or everyone has access to the drugs they need at a price they can afford.

India, however, is seeing their drug market expand annually at a rate of nearly 10%.

The drugs in highest demand are for diabetes and high blood pressure. There's something about that Indian diet, it seems.

Drugs will treat the symptoms but they won't prevent the disease.
