Don’t Eat the Yellow Sand

I don't think it is yellow for the same reason that snow changes color, but I may be wrong. Besides, nobody is saying wha the cause is.

However, yellow sand has been observed in wide areas across Japan – Aomori, Ishikawa, Aichi, Kyoto, Yamaguchi, Tokushima, Fukuoka and Okinawa prefectures as well as in Tokyo.

In some areas, Chugoku, Shigoku and Kyushu regions, visibility fell to around 5 kilometers (3.1 miles).yellow.sand.jpg

The yellow sand may continue to be observed in Okinawa and the northeastern part of Japan.

When all else fails, I suppose they could blame it on global warming.

Global warming seems to be the cause of every other weird weather phenomenon, no?
